If you want to use third party software to control your 10Micron mount, such as SequenceGeneratorPro (SGP), MaximDL etc, you will need the 10Micron ASCOM driver. This is available for download from the 10Micron forum (you will have to register your mount to gain access).
Once in the main forum area, go to the “Aggiornamenti software/Software updates” near the bottom of the page and once you click on the link, you will see at (or near) the top of the page, the latest ASCOM driver.
At the moment (as of 15th Jan 2020) it is the 10micron ASCOM driver 126.96.36.199 (dated Friday 14th June 2019) that is current. If you click on the blue worded “Click to Download” text, the ASCOM driver will download to your PC. In order to install and use the current ASCOM driver the following is required:
- PC running Microsoft Windows XP SP3 / Vista / 7 / 8 / 10
- Microsoft .NET Framework version 3.5
- ASCOM Platform version 6 or later – for the current version (see https://ascom-standards.org)
- 10Micron mount connected to the PC with a serial link or through a LAN
- ASCOM-compatible client software
With the above installed, and the 10Micron ASCOM driver downloaded, you can run the ASCOM installer .exe file for the driver to be installed.
From your ASCOM client software (e.g. SGP etc), select the “10Micron Mount” ASCOM driver (using whatever procedure is outlined in your ASCOM client software’s documentation).
The 10Micron ASCOM driver provides a “Settings dialog window” which allows you to configure a number of options including Communication, Drive parameters, Park etc (see image below). More information about these options can be found on the 10Micron ASCOM driver page.
