10Micron have recently released a new mount – their GM2000 Combi. It replaces the previous GM2000 Monolith and GM2000 Ultraport models.
This new mount features an additional mount locking system for stability/rigidity when used in permanent installations, but the mount can still be separated into 2 parts (like the previous Ultraport version) for portability and ease of transport.
The technical specifications/size/weight of the new GM2000 HPS II COMBI is the same as of the GM2000 HPS II Ultraport.
The mount can still carry a payload capacity of 50kg/110lb and of course features 10Micron’s High Speed Precision and Slew (HPS) – with proprietary encoders on RA and DEC axis for high precision pointing accuracy and <1 arc sec tracking accuracy for long exposure unguided imaging and high performance servo motors for up to 20 degrees per second slewing. It also has an external Linux PC and control handset so no PC is needed for the mount’s operation and mount modelling and it is WiFi enabled for wireless control.
